Case Study: Social Media Strategy & Implementation
Alameda Health System (AHS) is a public health care system with 5 hospitals and 4 primary care clinics. My goal for this project was to organically grow their social media platforms, increase engagement, and build awareness for the services AHS provided. I started by creating a brand identity utilizing brand guidelines, created a social media policy, and built an internal brand ambassador team representing each of the 9 brick and motors. I then conducted an internal survey to pinpoint what differentiated AHS from other (much more popular) healthcare organizations in the area. My research, and survey results showed that people chose to visit AHS not because they had the best facilities, or the most technologically advanced equipment, but because of the people that served the health system. Taking that information and utilizing AHS's mission of "Caring, Healing, Teaching, Serving All" I developed several social media campaigns that focused on the people that worked for AHS (doctors, nurses, volunteers, administrative staff, etc.). Utilizing organic (non-paid) social media strategies I was able to increase impressions by over 2,000% in less than one year. Work included content development, graphics, photography, engagement, and analytic reporting via raw-data from both facebook and twitter social media sites.
