Project Description

The Alameda County Public Health department charged me with managing their social media communications in light of the 2020 pandemic, better known as COVID-19.  Work included strategizing with various department heads, to develop content that clearly and effectively communicated the state of COVID-19, county restrictions, protocols, openings and closures, protection methods, testing resources, etc.

Case Study: Social Media Strategy & Implementation

Alameda County Public Health Department (ACPHD) tracks and reports health status and diseases to their communities, provides outreach and education to prevent and control diseases, helps residents access quality health care and  works to protect the health of their communities during emergencies and disasters. ACPHD has 600 employees in 21 locations. They cover 1.4 million people who live in 13 cities (Albany, Emeryville, Piedmont, Alameda, Oakland, San Leandro, Hayward, Union City, Fremont, Newark, Dublin, Pleasanton, Livermore).

My work was inclusive of their only social media platform: Twitter.
